How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
We met at the Brooklyn Museum during a monthly event called First Saturdays which is a free art and entertainment event. Kyle spotted me while walking through the crowd with a mutual friend Lucy and he requested an introduction. I was charmed by Kyle’s big smile and unique fashion sense (he was wearing shorts and a cardigan in the middle of the summer). At that event, Kyle and I exchanged Facebook monikers and we were on our first date no less than a week later. Kyle surprised me by bringing me back to where it all started, the Brooklyn Museum. One day in the middle of March 2016, I thought Kyle was taking me on a regular date night but knew something was different when our train ride took us from our homebase of Harlem into Brooklyn. On arrival to the museum, Kyle appeared more nervous than normal but I ignored it until I looked down and he was on one knee. A soon as I nodded yes, our families burst through the side doors and ran towards us in celebration. I was so overwhelmed that I did not even put on the ring and Kyle stood there ring in hand while I hugged everyone around him. After I finally put on the ring, Kyle arranged for an onsite photo shoot. After the proposal, Kyle had planned a dinner for the families but to my surprise it was actually an extension of the proposal celebration with friends from near and far present to celebrate.

Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
Sarah Ann: I simply wanted a dress that reflected my unique style and our venue. The goal was a contemporary dress with a touch of glamour. Through the recommendation of a colleague I discovered the Glamour Closet, a boutique that offers deep discounts on high end designer gowns. On a lunch break, I went to Glamour Closet by myself and found my dress. It was everything I could imagine: modern, chic, form fitting and detailed. I was unsure if I should buy it on first look but after consultation with my style team (my mom and close friends) I bought the dress and it became the star of the day.

Kyle: I wanted a well fit tuxedo in navy blue with sleek accents. After trying on several designers, I went to the Studio Store for Paul Smith and found the perfect suit. It was navy with a black upper lapel
