Sarah Janks 2013 Bridal Collection: Lace & Embroidery

Sarah Janks is a designer and accomplished pattern cutter by trade. She grew up in South Africa, where she studied and graduated from the London International School of Fashion with honors. She was twice a finalist in the Smirnoff International Student Fashion Competition and represented South Africa in London in 1997.  She has worked alongside some of the best known names in the business including Jenny Packham, Jonathan Saunders and Hamish Morrow.  She collaborated on one of the most iconic shapes of recent years – The Galaxy dress for Roland Mouret.

Whilst working in London as a creative design assistant and pattern-cutter for Roland, she created the garment which was to emerge as one of the defining silhouettes of the decade.. Sarah was inspired by the glamour gowns worn by Marlene Dietrich in her later years when she reportedly wore an undergarment that would give her a svelte figure, however later paired with Roland’s draping genius for his AW 2004 collection.  Based in Sydney, Australia Sarah launched her first collection in 2011 to critical acclaim. Her latest collection for 2013 is another beautiful chapter in the Sarah Janks story, featuring lace and intricate embroidery in signature shapes and strong, feminine designs.
