St Kitts- Follow Your Heart!

The island of St. Kitts captured my heart some eight years ago. The rolling landscape is a thousand shades of green, the waters are a tranquil shade of turquoise, and life on this precious gift of nature is sweet and simple. St. Kitts is located 1200 miles from Miami. The island serves as a popular port for many cruise ships,  Getting married in St. Kitts is very simple. Red tape is kept to a minimum. No residency is required. Couples are only required to obtain a marriage license in St. Kitts and have the following documents:

 * A valid passport or photo ID.

  • If widowed, a copy of the death certificate of the deceased spouse must be presented.
  • If documents are not in English they must be accompanied by a notarized translation.

We had the pleasure of planning Char and Cliff’s wedding on this beautiful island.  The couple and 40 of their friends and family sailed aboard the Carnival Valor. They arrived at Port Zante and were transfrered to Spice Mill Restaurant where the wedding ceremony was held on the beach. The ceremony was performed by a local minister and music was provided by a local pan player and ‘All of Me” was sung by an amazing 16 year old. The cake was even baked by a local baker.  Family and friends were able to celebrate with the couple in this bit of paradise. For those who stay over, guests can zip line, create a batik fabric, swim with dolphins, party on the strip, visit the rainforest or just enjoy the beautiful beaches in St. Kitts.
