Fashion is art. Art is fashion. Viktor & Rolf’s couture collection claim both of these statements as true. After announcing that their ready-to-wear collection would cease to exist, Viktor & Rolf have delivered one of the most talked about collections of the couture season: Wearable Art.
Many of the looks incorporated artwork from the Dutch Golden Age. Beginning with denim blue and white as the color palette, the silhouettes are geometrical. The denim lays the foundation of the look while the artwork piece works as a contrasting element taking the look from simple to outstanding.
This is what couture is all about. Imagination. Its about creating something that an audience can walk away in awe of. This collection was truly inspirational.
